5 reasons why you should love group fitness!

Is your weekly training routine becoming a tad stale? It might be time to spice things up by incorporating group fitness into your schedule. Not only does group training take the thought out of your exercise routine, it is both fun and motivating. If that’s not enough to get you to a class, here are 5 more reasons to love group fitness!

1. ACCOUNTABILITY

First and foremost, group fitness dramatically improves accountability. When you start a workout, it is etiquette to remain in the class until the end. Unlike training on your own, group fitness classes increase the likelihood that you’ll complete the workout from start to finish. Likewise, doing a workout in the presence of others enhances your motivation to complete every repetition with drive and intensity.

2. VARIETY

Variety is key when it comes to improvements in fitness. If you do the same workout over and over again, your body will adapt and your results will plateau. Thus, group fitness classes ensure variability as the class routine constantly changes with different instructors bringing their unique flair to each class.

3. STRUCTURE

Group fitness classes are planned in a way that they incorporate an effective warm-up, adequate rest, a challenging workout and an effective cool-down. This ensures that you can enjoy a consistent, well structured workout which will ensure that you adapt and recover in time for your next class. Placing the responsibility of exercise design in the hands of a qualified instructor takes the pressure off needing to do this yourself.

4. SUPPORT

Both your trainer and your fellow participants are there to support and assist you throughout your entire sweat session. This can be just what you need to power through your workout, push yourself that little bit further and reach your health and fitness goals.

5. RESULTS

With a variety of group fitness classes from Body Pump to Boxing to Yoga, choosing classes specific to your goals helps you to achieve them. Whether your goal is to increase strength, improve cardiovascular health, increase flexibility or learn a new skill, attending group fitness can help you get there. Plus, the group fitness instructor is there to guide you, help improve your technique and answer any questions you may have.

So, what’s not to love about group fitness? This month we are giving you the opportunity to bring a friend for free to ANY group fitness class on Wednesdays. Take advantage of this great opportunity to show your friends just how rewarding group fitness can be.
