4 reasons to start your day with spin

When your alarm goes off at 5 am, make sure to resist the urge to hit snooze and start your day right by conquering a spin class. Trust me, you won’t regret it. The euphoric feeling experienced after spin will leave you itching for more. Still not convinced that the early wake up is worth it? Here are 4 more reasons you’ll love spin.

1) You will improve your mental strength

Regularly attending spin will improve your mental strength. Willpower can be likened to a muscle. The more you work it, the stronger it will get. What is more, studies have shown that strengthening your willpower in one area will transfer to enhanced willpower in other areas. For example, enduring a tough spin track from start to finish will transfer to increased self-control in other areas, such as your adherence to a healthy diet.

2) You will experience that that tribal camaraderie

Conquering a spin class as a group will heighten feelings of team spirit. Together you will push through the inclines, grapple with the sprints and reach the finish as a team. You and your fellow participants are there to inspire and motivate each other to continually improve. Likewise, the instructor will encourage you to dig deep and push yourself until the end of the class.

3) You’ll be pumped up by awesome sound tracks

Music is an excellent way to enhance performance. Not only does music distract your mind from the tough workout at hand, it will heighten your effort, put you in the ‘zone’ and help you maintain your pace. Furthermore, music is a great mood booster, thereby helping you tackle the day with a more positive mindset.

4) You’ll walk (or hobble) out feeling elated

Aerobic exercise causes the body to release mood enhancing chemicals such as serotonin and endorphins. Such chemicals boost your mood and produce feelings of happiness. Thus, completing your morning spin workout will put you in a fantastic head space to conquer the rest of the day.
