Vitamin C, Why Do We Need It?

Vitamin C, Why Do We Need It?

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps protect the body's cells from oxidative stress. Its a vital nutrient for health. It’s necessary for the growth, development and repair of all body tissues. It's one of the main ingredients in the bodily functions, including formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.

Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that can strengthen your body’s natural defenses. Antioxidants are molecules that boost the immune system. They do so by protecting cells from harmful molecules called free radicals. When free radicals accumulate, they can promote a state known as oxidative stress, which has been linked to many chronic diseases. Studies show that consuming more vitamin C can increase your blood antioxidant levels by up to 30%. This helps the body's natural defences fight inflammation.

Vitamin C is water soluble, and the body does not produce it. While it’s commonly advised to get your vitamin C intake from foods, we recommend to supplement with it also to ensure you get your your needs.

Vitamin C is taken in a high strength tablet or powder. Our bodies can only utilise around 200mg per every two hours. So taking too much in one hit is not as effective as split dosing it 2-3 times a day. (Alongside getting it through foods such as capsicums, broccoli and sweet potato).

This amazing product is an all natural source of vitamin C and highly bioavailable. It uses Camu Camu, Kakadu plum, Rosehips, Acerola cherry and Goji berries for extra immune boosters.

Most vitamins on the market are synthetically made. Our bodies only recognise organic substances so taking an all natural ascorbic vitamin C can actually go further.
